The Memorial edition of the works of Theodore Roosevelt, this is one of the 50 sets for presentation (from an edition of 1,050). Bound by Stikeman & Company. Signed by Edith Kermit Roosevelt, with a manuscript note stating that this is one of the presentation copies. Octavo, bound in three quarters morocco, gilt top edge, raised bands, gilt titles and tooling to the spine. Frontispiece to each volume. In very good condition. Twenty two volumes, lacking two volumes.
Theodore Roosevelt was an American statesman, author, explorer, soldier, naturalist, and reformer who served as the 26th president of the United States from 1901 to 1909. As a leader of the Republican Party during this time, he became a driving force for the Progressive Era in the United States in the early 20th century.
