Octavo, publisher’s exquisite deluxe full morocco binding with gilt titles and elaborate botanical gilt tooling to the spine in five compartments within raised gilt bands, gilt ruling and elaborate botanical gilt decorations to the front and rear panels, ivory floral inlays to the spine and panels, gilt turn-ins and full morocco doublures stamp-signed by Edwin C. Hill Company with periwinkle, red, and green morocco inlays, silk-watered endleaves, illustrated with tissue-guarded plates in three states, one being hand-coloured, extra-illustrated with original miniature watercolor paintings throughout. One of fifty-eight numbered copies printed on Japan Paper, this is number one. In very good condition with small losses to the spine crowns of four volumes. A stunning set.
