"Sorstalanság" [Fateless] is a semi-autobiographical story about a 15-year-old Hungarian György sent to Auschwitz and Buchenwald. He's forced to become a man, finds happiness in the middle of hatred, and learns what it really means to be Jewish. Basis for the well-received 2005 motion picture, with the screenplay by Kertész, made in Hungary by director Lajos Koltai, with Marcell Nagy in the starring role. It also features British actor Daniel Craig, who plays a cameo as an American Army Sergeant.
