Jonathan Edwards (1703–1758) was a prominent American theologian, preacher, and philosopher of the 18th century, best known for his role in the First Great Awakening. A leading figure in Reformed theology, Edwards emphasized the sovereignty of God, human depravity, and the necessity of divine grace for salvation.
