First edition of Sinclair’s Co-op. Octavo, original cloth. Very good in a very good dust jacket, lacking the front free endpaper.

Sinclair published Co-op: A Novel of Living Together in 1936 when he was running in the California gubernatorial election with the End Poverty in California movement. Hollywood studio bosses unanimously opposed his agenda and a number of false propaganda films attacking Sinclair were produced. Although it was his most successful run for office, Sinclair was defeated by incumbent Governor Frank F. Merriam and returned to writing.
