Introducing... The Beatles Album; Signed by Ringo Starr
The first Beatles album released in the United States, issued by Vee-Jay Records in 1964, drawn largely from the group’s British debut and including “I Saw Her Standing There,” “Twist and Shout,” “Love Me Do,” and “P.S. I Love You.” The stereo issue, catalogue SR-1062. Boldly signed by Ringo Starr in black felt tip on the front cover. In very good condition with light wear to the extremities. Original record included. A wonderful signed example of the album that first introduced the Beatles to America.
Introducing... The Beatles, released by the small Chicago label Vee-Jay Records in January 1964, was the first Beatles album issued in the United States, appearing just days before Capitol’s Meet the Beatles. Drawn largely from the group’s British debut Please Please Me, it rode the cresting wave of Beatlemania to sell more than a million copies despite a tangle of lawsuits over Vee-Jay’s rights to the recordings. Because it was so quickly caught up in litigation and soon superseded by the Capitol releases, the Vee-Jay album, issued in numerous mono and stereo variants, has become one of the most collected and closely studied of all Beatles records.
