The Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour Album; Signed by Ringo Starr
The Beatles’ Magical Mystery Tour, the American album gathering the songs from their 1967 television film together with the great singles of that year. Gatefold sleeve, lacking the 24-page full-color picture book. Boldly signed by Ringo Starr in black felt tip on the front cover. In near fine condition. Original record included. A wonderful signed example of one of the most psychedelic and beloved of all Beatles records.
Magical Mystery Tour, released by Capitol in the United States in November 1967, was assembled to accompany the Beatles’ surreal television film of the same name, pairing the six songs written for the film with five of the band’s landmark singles of that year. Where the British release took the form of a double EP, the American album added Strawberry Fields Forever, Penny Lane, Hello Goodbye, Baby You’re a Rich Man, and All You Need Is Love, making it one of the essential documents of the group’s psychedelic peak. Produced by George Martin and reaching number one on the Billboard chart, it gathers some of the most inventive music the Beatles ever recorded, from the orchestral swirl of I Am the Walrus to the wistful beauty of The Fool on the Hill. The album was famously issued with a 24-page booklet of color photographs and cartoon drawings telling the story of the film.
