Duodecimo, bound in full contemporary calf with gilt titles to the spine in seven compartments within gilt bands. Jonathan Edwards (1703–1758) was a prominent American theologian, preacher, and philosopher of the 18th century, best known for his role in the First Great Awakening. A leading figure in Reformed theology, Edwards emphasized the sovereignty of God, human depravity, and the necessity of divine grace for salvation. 'Miscellaneous Observations on Important Theological Subjects' is comprised of a series of reflections and exegetical comments, with the text primarily defending the divinity of Christ and engaging with key doctrinal issues such as the Trinity, original sin, and justification.
