Rare World War II-era color poster featuring a portrait of Winston Churchill by F. T. The poster measures 17 inches by 22 inches.
Winston Churchill delivered a stirring tribute to the Royal Air Force before the House of Commons on August 20, 1940, as they bravely defended Britain against the German Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain. Remembered for the iconic line, often paraphrased as "Never was so much owed by so many to so few," Churchill praised the extraordinary courage and dedication of the pilots and crews engaged in battle, describing their efforts as pivotal in preventing a German invasion. The speech served both as a morale booster for the British people and as an acknowledgment of the RAF’s critical role in World War II, recognizing the valor and sacrifice of those who fought in the skies to secure Britain’s survival.
