Edwin Lefèvre (1871–1943) was an American journalist, author, and financial writer best known for his influential works on Wall Street and speculative finance. Beginning his career as a reporter, Lefèvre gained prominence through his detailed and accessible accounts of market behavior, most notably in 'Reminiscences of a Stock Operator' (1923), a semi-fictionalized biography of trader Jesse Livermore that remains a classic in financial literature. 'To the Last Penny' (1917) by Edwin Lefèvre is a financial novel that follows Thomas Leigh, a young man confronting the moral and practical challenges of entering the business world in early twentieth-century America.
