Large octavo, bound in three quarter morocco over marbled boards with gilt titles and tooling to the spine, illustrated. One of 385 numbered copies, this is number 249. In very good condition. A nice presentation.
American historian Samuel Eliot Morison was revered for his works of maritime history and American history that were both authoritative and popular. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he published several works on New England history including A History of the Constitution of Massachusetts (1917), The Maritime History of Massachusetts (1921), and Of Plymouth Plantation (1952).
