First edition, first issue with signpost with “100£ reward.” Octavo, three quarters morocco, top edge gilt. Gilt titles and tooling to the spine, marbled endpapers. With Forty engraved plates including the frontispiece and engraved title by Hablôt K. Browne. In near fine condition, unusually fresh and free of foxing.
The Life and Adventures of Martin Chuzzlewit is considered the last of Dickens’ picaresque novels. It was originally serialised in 1843 and 1844. Dickens thought it to be his best work. "Dickens' funniest novel" (William Boyd).
