Quarto, original publisher's cloth with gilt titles to the spine in five compartments, elaborate gilt borders and 'Judea Capta' centerpiece of a woman mourning at the base of a palm tree to the front panel, matching borders stamped in blind with a gilt 'Judea Capta' centerpiece of the Roman Emperor Vespasian to the rear panel, all edges gilt, tissue-guarded frontispiece of a mosque enclosure, illustrated with several drawings and twenty-eight full page lithographic plates modeled after the author's original sketches. In very good condition with light rubbing to the extremities. First editions are rare.
