Octavo, two volumes, publisher’s original dark green cloth with gilt titles and ruling to the spine, top edge gilt, tissue-guarded frontispiece to volume one, illustrated with several folding maps. In near fine condition.
Fiske's The Discovery of America contains a detailed history of the series of events which comprised the discovery of America, from the time when Europeans were first introduced to the continent in the course of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, through the days of Columbus and Cortes, culminating in the conquest for the Northwest Passage and discovery of Alaska.
