Octavo, two volumes, bound in three quarters morocco, gilt titles and tooling to the spine, marbled endpapers, illustrated with engraved frontispiece portrait, 3 folding maps, 1 folding engraved plate. In very good condition.
"The translator has in a great measure caught the spirit of his author, and… has preserved Caesar’s turn of phrase and expression” (Brueggemann, 520-21).
