Smelly Jelly Smelly Fish: The Seaside Book (1986) is a collection of seaside-themed poems, jokes, jingles, and silly sayings for children by Michael Rosen (born 1946), the hugely popular English poet, author, and broadcaster who served as Children’s Laureate from 2007 to 2009 and is best known for We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. It is illustrated with the lively pen-and-watercolor drawings of Sir Quentin Blake, the celebrated artist most famous for his work with Roald Dahl, who in 1999 became the first Children’s Laureate and was later knighted for his services to illustration.
