First edition, first issue with “Erste bis Sechste Auflage” printed on the copyright page. Octavo, bound in original publisher’s quarter vellum over orange boards, lettered in black on spine and front cover. In near fine condition with light rubbing to the crown of the spine. A very nice example.

"Inspired by Hesse's intimate study of Indian philosophy and religion," Siddhartha explores the life and spirituality of "the eponymous central figure, the Brahmin Siddhartha" (Garland, 834).
