Considered the most influential poet of his time, American poet John Ashbery published more than 20 volumes of poetry and won nearly every major American award for poetry throughout his career, including a Pulitzer Prize in 1976 for his collection Self-Portrait in a Convex Mirror. Published in 1985, Selected Poems is the first volume of select poems of the great poet's work, chosen by him from his first ten volumes of poetry.
