Peanuts Jubilee: My Life and Art with Charlie Brown and Others was published in 1975 to mark the twenty-fifth anniversary of Peanuts, the comic strip Charles M. Schulz launched on October 2, 1950. Part memoir and part retrospective, it traces the strip's origins in his Minnesota boyhood and his early feature Li'l Folks, reproduces favorite strips in color, and reflects on the creation of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, and the rest of the Peanuts world. Charles M. Schulz (1922 to 2000) drew nearly eighteen thousand Peanuts strips himself over half a century, building the most widely syndicated and influential comic strip in history, carried in more than two thousand newspapers around the world and extended into television specials, books, and merchandise that made Peanuts a global phenomenon.
