Dylan's ninth studio album, Nashville Skyline, was released on April 9th 1969 by Columbia Records and marked a dramatic shift in Dylan's style as it displayed a complete immersion into country music. The album was a commercial success, Paul Nelson of Rolling Stone wrote, "Nashville Skyline achieves the artistically impossible: a deep, humane, and interesting statement about being happy. It could well be... his best album." The album includes the singles Girl from the North Country (a duet with Johnny Cash), To Be Alone with You, Lay Lady Lay, and Tonight I'll be Staying Here with You.
