First edition, second issue of Byron’s haunting drama with no quotation from Hamlet to the title page. Octavo, original wrappers as issued. In fine condition. Housed in a custom buckram clamshell box by Esper.

Byron commenced this work in late 1816, only a few months after the famous ghost-story sessions with Percy Bysshe Shelley and Mary Shelley that provided the initial impetus for Frankenstein. The supernatural references are made clear throughout the poem in keeping with the popularity of the ghost story in England at the time.
