A French industrialist and patron, Pierre Vital Georges Berge, co-founded the Yves Saint Laurent Couture House fashion label in 1961. He also launched a number of French magazines and had many philanthropic patronages. His art collection, along with Yves Saint Laurent, was put up for sale in February 2009.
