First edition. Octavo, original red cloth. Illustrated by Ed Gressley, H. Lawrence Hoffman, Leo Manso & Sam Sugar. Inscribed by the author on the front free end page. Additionally inscribed on the half title page - most likely a joke, as it inscribed to Fred Allen & Bob Hope. A good copy with a couple of torn pages, in a good dust jacket which shows some wear and tear and fading to the spine.
Joey Adams' career spanned more than 70 years and included appearances in nightclubs and vaudevilles. He also hosted his own radio show, wrote a column "Strictly for Laughs", and wrote 23 books, including "From Gags to Riches," "Joey Adams Joke Book," "Laugh Your Calories Away", "On the Road with Uncle Sam" and "Encyclopedia of Humor."
