First edition of Miller's classic work. Octavo, original cloth, frontispiece portrait of champion rodeo rider Ken Maynard. Presentation copy, inscribed by Maynard on the front free endpaper, "To my good friend 'Churchill' hoping you always keep her nose up and have plenty tail winds - my best always: - Ken Maynard." Maynard, who edited the present volume, was a trick rider with the Buffalo Bill Wild West Show, occasional screenwriter and director, and in 1960, was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contributions to the film industry. He became Hollywood's first singing cowboy in the 1929 Talkie Hit "The Wagon Master" were he sang both The Cowboy's Lament and The Lone Star Trail. In near fine condition.
