Rare photograph of an artist’s conception of the Apollo 8 mission signed by Frank Borman. Black and white satin-finish photograph depicting an artist’s concept of the Apollo 8 spacecraft still attached to the third stage of the Saturn V launch vehicle. Boldly signed by Borman in black felt tip to the bottom center. In fine condition with light creasing to the corners. Official NASA photograph with a printed explanation to the verso. He was the commander of Apollo 8, the first crewed spacecraft to leave Earth's gravitational sphere of influence and the first mission to fly around the Moon, and together with crewmates Jim Lovell and William Anders, became the first of 24 humans to do so, for which he was awarded the Congressional Space Medal of Honor.
