First edition of the author’s classic novel. Octavo, original cloth. Inscribed by the author to his friend and neighbor in a contemporary hand, “Kurt Vonnegut Jr. For my neighbor Peter- who knew me when- and still does.” The recipient was Peter Eustace, who was a friend and neighbor of Vonnegut in Barnstable, Massachusetts. They were involved in the Barnstable Comedy Club together, along with other activities when Cat’s Cradle was published in 1963. Some of the usual fading to the cloth, an excellent copy in a very good dust jacket. Housed in a custom half morocco clamshell box. A nice association.
"One of Kurt Vonneguts most continuously inventive and delightfully complex novels," Cats Cradle "makes a mockery of science, religion, patriotism, sexeverything; and it concludes in the only way it possibly can, with the End of the World" (Science Fiction 100 Best). Chosen by the Modern Library as one of the best 100 novels of the 20th century.
