Signed by Gary Snyder on the title page and dated 15 October 2019. Gary Snyder, the Pulitzer Prize-winning poet and a central figure of the Beat movement and the San Francisco Renaissance, was a close friend of Kerouac and the model for Japhy Ryder in The Dharma Bums, appearing again in Big Sur under the name Jarry Wagner.
