American sculptor Louise Nevelson is best known for her monumental, monochromatic, wooden wall pieces and outdoor sculptures. "As a young child" said Nevelson, "I could go into a room and remember everything I saw. I'd take one glance and know everything in that room. That's a visual mind. You see, the eyes are most intelligent... Who is an artist I say, we take a title. No one gives it to us. We make our lives."
