First edition. Octavo, original publisher’s decorated green cloth. A near fine copy with just a touch of rubbing. Signed by Mark Twain opposite of the title page. Copyright 1884. Includes all the agreed upon issue points for the first edition: p. 9 "Huck Decided to Leave", p. 13 (Him and another man listed as being on page 88); p. 57, "with the saw". Other points of interest: the frontispiece with Heliotype Printing Co. stated and cloth under the bust clearly showing; p. 155 missing the final "5". On page 161, missing the signature "11". On page 143, the "l" is missing from the word "Col." in the illustration of Colonel Grangerford and in line 11, the word "body" has a broken b (missing the top of the letter) that was fixed in later editions. Housed in a custom half morocco clamshell chemise box. A very sharp copy of this literary highspot, extremely rare signed.
