First edition of the author's second Pulitzer Prize-winning work. Octavo, original cloth, pictorial endpapers. Presentation copy, lengthily inscribed and dated by Thornton Wilder on the half-title page with a quotes added, ""A star's mighty give company." "Yes...yes, 'tis." Fine in a fine dust jacket without wear. An exceptional example, easily the nicest we have handled.

First edition, inscribed by Wilder in the year of publication, the year after he was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Our Town. Octavo, original cloth, pictorial endpapers. Presentation copy, inscribed by the author in the year of publication on the half-title page, "For Julie, coeur d'or with the lasting regard of Thornton, New York April 1939." Also laid into is a ten line note signed Wilder. Near fine in a very good dust jacket. Jacket design by Donald McKay. Housed in a custom half morocco clamshell box. First editions are rare and desirable signed and inscribed.

First edition of the author's second Pulitzer Prize-winning work. Octavo, bound in full morocco by the Harcourt Bindery, gilt titles and tooling to the spine in six compartments within raised gilt bands, gilt ruling to the front and rear panels, gilt inner dentelles stamp-signed by the Harcourt Bindery, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. Presentation copy, inscribed by the author on a page bound in, "Margaret C. Schiller with the best wishes of Thornton Wilder New Haven, Conn. December 1940." In fine condition. An exceptional presentation.
