The Nonesuch Press limited edition of Alexander Pope’s monumental translation of Homer’s Iliad. Royal octavo, bound in full russet morocco with gilt titles to the spine in six compartments within raised bands, double gilt ruling to the front and rear panels, top edge gilt, inner dentelles, marbled endpapers, with engraved ornaments. One of 1,450 numbered copies, this is number 312. In fine condition. Engravings by Rudolf Koch. Accompanied by a slip titled "On First Looking into Pope's Homer" in regards on how to first open the book laid in.
