    WHITE, Stanford.

    Stanford White Autograph Letter Signed.

Autograph letter signed by and entirely in the hand of American architect Stanford White. Four pages, dated March 6th 1896 and addressed to Mrs. Frederick McMonnies, the letter reads, "The sketches duly arrived and as I write Mac I am simply overpowered. I really melted with pleasure and continue to do so every time I look at them and I know the pleasure I felt on receiving them will mean more to you than any thanks, so I will not even attempt to thank you in words but if you ever want a house built for love, why, you know where to come for it. I hope William is better. It is too bad that he should have all this trouble and sickness and work. Bring him over here soon. With the kindest regards form Mrs. White. Always yours faithfully, Standford White." The recipient, Mary Fairchild MacMonnies was an American artist who, in 1888, married the best known expatriate American sculptor of the Beaux-Arts school, Frederick William MacMonnies. In fine condition. Double matted and framed with an engraved portrait of White. The entire piece measures 13 inches by 21 inches.
