Presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the half-title page, "To John with all good wishes Michael Bond. Near fine in a very good price-clipped dust jacket with a chip to the back panel. Housed in a custom half morocco clamshell box made by the Harcourt Bindery. An exceptional example, rare and desirable signed and inscribed.

Octavo, bound in full morocco by the Harcourt Bindery, gilt titles and tooling to the spine in six compartments within raised gilt bands, gilt ruling to the front and rear panels, gilt inner dentelles stamp-signed by the Harcourt Bindery, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. Signed by Michael Bond on a page bound in. In fine condition. Illustrated by Peggy Fortnum. An exceptional presentation.
