Octavo, bound in full morocco by the Harcourt Bindery, gilt titles and tooling to the spine in six compartments within raised gilt bands, gilt ruling to the front and rear panels, gilt stamped to the front panel, gilt inner dentelles stamp-signed by the Harcourt Bindery, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. Presentation copy, inscribed by the author with three drawings opposite the title page, "For Dick with all best wishes of Ferdinand and Munro Leaf." In fine condition. An exceptional presentation on one of the most sought after children's books of the twentieth century, uncommon signed and inscribed with three drawings.
