First edition of Charlotte Perkins Gilman's ground breaking work and what she considered "her greatest work" (New York Times). Octavo, original cloth, 'Lady Merton, Colonist' advertising pamphlet laid in. Signed by the author on the front free endpaper, "C.P. Gilman lent June 12, 1934." Very good in the rare original dust jacket. Loss and dampstaining to the extremities of the dust jacket.
