First editions of the complete set of the biography of the only president of the Confederate States. Octavo, four volumes, publisher's original half-cloth, top stains, frontispiece, with cartographic endpapers in Confederate President. Boldly signed by the author in three of the volumes: on the Montgomery Edition tipped in leaf for the Civil War Book Club in American Patriot, and on the front free endpapers of Tragic Hero and Private Letters. Each volume is near fine to fine in a near fine dust jackets. Accompanied by a correspondence between Carlos S. Mundt of San Francisco State College and a Mr. O'Brien regarding Strode's Jefferson Davis book laid in. Housed in a custom cloth slipcase. Rare and desirable signed.
