Cardozo (1870–1938) was an influential American jurist who served as an Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court from 1932 until his death in 1938, following a distinguished tenure as Chief Judge of the New York Court of Appeals. Appointed to the Supreme Court by President Herbert Hoover, Cardozo became renowned for his clear prose and thoughtful approach to legal reasoning, particularly in areas such as tort law, contracts, and judicial philosophy.
