Octavo, two volumes, bound in contemporary three quarters close-grain green morocco over marbled boards with gilt titles and tooling to the spine in six compartments within raised bands, all edges marbled, marbled endpapers, tissue-guarded frontispieces, separate title page vignettes, illustrated with over 300 engravings on steel and wood from sketches by the author, including 20 full page plates and four maps including two folding. First printing issue point of "Open Sea" rather than "Kane's Sea" on map in volume one. In near fine condition. A very sharp set.
