Second edition of this rare and early work on golf, preceded by the very rare Scotland Edition of 1875. Octavo, original green cloth, gilt topstain, gilt titles to the spine, gilt vignette to the front panel. Woodcut frontispiece by John Gilbert depicting Charles I playing golf on Leith links, tissue-guard, 6 plates and numerous wood engravings in the text. In near fine condition with light rubbing, bookplate.
