Carl Lewis (b. 1961) is one of the most accomplished track and field athletes in Olympic history, specializing in sprinting and the long jump. Competing in four Olympic Games between 1984 and 1996, Lewis won nine Olympic gold medals and one silver, including four consecutive gold medals in the long jump, a feat that underscored his sustained dominance in the event. At the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, he equaled Jesse Owens’s 1936 achievement by winning four gold medals in a single Games. Beyond his Olympic success, Lewis secured multiple World Championship titles and set world-class standards in both sprinting and jumping.
