Finely bound example of Trollope's classic romance novel. Octavo, bound in three quarters morocco over marbled boards with elaborate gilt tooling to the spine, morocco spine labels lettered in gilt, marbled endpapers, all edges marbled. In very good condition.
Originally published in Macmillan's Magazine between May and December 1870, and in novel form in 1871, Trollope's Sir Harry Hotspur of Humblethwaite dissects the issues of inheritance, filial duty, gentlemanly behavior, repentance and love through the story of the wooing and losing of Sir Harry Hotspur's daughter, Emily, by their "scamp" of a cousin Captain George Hotspur.
