Signed by Tom Wolfe on the title page and additionally signed on the half-title page by pilot Chuck Yeager and inscribed by John Glenn, "To Jack Lubowsky with best regards - John Glenn." The recipient, Jack Lubowsky worked on biomedical instrumentation research and was selected to serve as an American Association for the Advancement of Science Congressional Science fellow for the Senate Subcommittee on Energy, Nuclear Proliferation and Government Processes under Glenn as Senator.
