Signed limited edition of this historical account on the Battle of Ia Drang during the Vietnam War, basis for the 2002 film directed by Randall Wallace and starring Mel Gibson. Octavo, bound in full leather with gilt titles and tooling to the spine in three compartments within raised gilt bands, gilt titles and tooling to the front panel, all edges gilt, silk moire endpapers, silk ribbon bound in, title page vignette, illustrated with black and white photographs. One of 3,000 numbered copies, this is number 2,948. Boldly signed by UPI war correspondent Joseph L. Galloway and lieutenant general Harold G. Moore on the limitations page. In fine condition.
