"Indiana Jones! Always knew someday you'd come walking back through my door": Rare Original Script of the First Indiana Jones Movie Raiders of the Lost Ark; Signed by Harrison Ford
Script of the first Indiana Jones movie Raiders of the Lost Ark. Quarto, original wrappers bound by brads with a mock-up image of the movie poster to the front cover, revised third draft dated August 1979. Boldly signed by Harrison Ford in blue felt tip next to his name on the front cover. Harrison Ford (born 1942) is an American actor whose career has been central to the formation of late-twentieth-century popular cinema, spanning New Hollywood, the blockbuster era, and contemporary prestige television. Rising to international prominence through iconic roles such as Han Solo in Star Wars (1977–2015), Indiana Jones in the Indiana Jones franchise (1981–2023), and Rick Deckard in Blade Runner (1982) and Blade Runner 2049 (2017), Ford helped define the modern screen hero while also sustaining a parallel reputation for character-driven performances in films like Witness (1985) and The Fugitive (1993). His work has been recognized across major award bodies: he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor for Witness, multiple Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations, and major career honors including the AFI Life Achievement Award and the Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award. In near fine condition.
Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), directed by Steven Spielberg from a story by George Lucas and scripted by Lawrence Kasdan, is a landmark American action-adventure film that introduced archaeologist-hero Indiana Jones and helped define the modern Hollywood blockbuster. Set in 1936, the movie follows archaeologist-adventurer Indiana Jones as he is recruited by U.S. intelligence to locate the biblical Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis can seize it for their own purposes. His quest takes him from a booby-trapped Peruvian temple to Nepal and then to Egypt, where he reunites with his former lover Marion Ravenwood and battles Nazi agents, including his rival René Belloq. It established a template for later adventure cinema through its practical stunt work, globe-trotting set pieces, and John Williams’s iconic score. Critically and commercially dominant on release, it earned nine Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director, and won five Oscars (notably for Art Direction, Film Editing, Sound, Sound Effects Editing, and a Special Achievement for Visual Effects).
