Aristotle’s Politics is a foundational text in Western political philosophy that offers a systematic examination of the nature, purpose, and organization of the polis, or city-state. Written in the 4th century BCE, the work explores the relationship between ethics and politics, arguing that the highest aim of human life is eudaimonia—flourishing or well-being—which is best achieved within a just political community.
